      Slo-Touring Canidate?

I have the oppertunity to pick up this 1973 Plymouth Fury with 70,000 original miles for pretty cheap. Does anybody have any experience with these cars? Things to look for? I dont know a whole lot about Mopars.

I was thinking this would be great dumped on some cool wheels just to cruise around in. Any thoughts/ guidence?

Well as someone who enters demolition derbies, thats what I see that car getting used for!

But I can see your point of leaving it stock and just slamming it so it can be used to just cruise in. There are some nice cruisers out there that have taken an old stocker and done that.
I am not useless, I can still be used as a bad example!

It'd look pretty good dropped over some 20/22's. ;)

      That car is so cool!

It looks like the basis of an outstanding party barge, especially with the hardtop look once all the windows are rolled down.

It would look cool with the right wheels and stance. The paint and the white top looks pretty good too. The only thing that I don't like is the rear wheel-well. I have never liked that style.

I had a '70 convertible. It was good looking, but good luck finding any parts for it. There's no aftermarket support at all, and any parts you do find carry that lovely Mopar premium price!

I agree, if it weren't for those rear wheel-wells, it could probably be painted / rimmed to look like a cop car too. Dog dish hub caps, black/white or brown paint. that'd be cool.

Shave the side trim, door edge guards, bumper guards, and door handles, flush mount the fender turn signals, run some cool dual exhaust out the back with slash-cut tips, get 18 inch Americans (or Radirs, if you're really cool) and some fat sidewall tires (45/50-series). Crank down the torsion bars to lower the front, and use lowering blocks in the rear (I'm pretty sure there's big ol leaf springs in the back...) or cut a coil out if I'm wrong. That trunk has plenty of room for a killer stereo. Maybe paint it black. Maybe make a cool tube grille for it. Make it comfy and cool, and you'll enjoy it. Mild customs are the coolest, since they're stock enough to be super reliable but different enough to get noticed.
