68 Camaro w/LS2

Figured i'd finally start posting my project on here, especailly since i'm at the part where i'll need some help! Bought a 68 base model Camaro all original with 75000? miles, in great condition back in May. 2 months later its been stripped, coated with some good old POR and i'm now in the process of putting it back together. I have the LS2 from a GTO along with the T-56 and just installed a 3.70 ford 9" yesterday.

285/40R18 in the back and 235/40R18 in front on 18x10 and 18x8 Boss 338 wheels wrapped in Nitto 555ZR tires. The back tires fit perfect, I wanted to get the widest tires possible without tubbing and I think I got it. Next on the list is getting that LS2 in, for any of you guys that have done this swap what company did you use for the motor mounts and cross member, headers, reworking of the harness and drive shaft components? Also any tips are greatly appreciated!

I'm just about to start a GTO LS2 swap in to my 79 Z28. I'll throw a couple of pennies in the pile...

Unless you want to notch the subframe, you might ebay the GTO A/C compressor and pick up the KwikPerf setup using a Sanborn compressor.

Looks like your alternator is missing as well (it's supposed to be on the drivers' side, down low). Probably want an Fbody alternator, but might check fitment first. GTO specific alternators are $$$.

You'll need a different oil pan, there are several to choose from. Deep Truck (LH8), Deep car (CTS-V), and shallow car (F-body). I think the truck pans are too deep and hang too low unless you hike the engine up really high. I'm going to use the F-body LS1 pan for my retrofit. The CTS-V pan is in between (about 1" deeper than F-body). You need specific windage trays and pickup tubes, and possibly dipstick tube, with each different pan.

Yeah I'm probably going with that compressor set up and I have the alternator from the GTO it's just on the work bench now. I need to find the website but I recently found a company that makes oil pans specifically for this set up and i want to say it’s 250, not sure exactly but a hell of a lot cheaper then the other guys. Who are you going to use for your harness?

Moroso pans from Summit are pretty cheap also.

I'm going to use the factory harness, I bought the whole car. APS twin turbo kit and all. ;) Ordered the Helm manual last week. I'm comfortable with complex wiring.

AHH I only wish... I bought my car and had to tear it apart to replace floors and rockers. Your so lucky to start with such a nice base. Lets you jump right into the fun stuff! Congrats and keep us posted.
