Things to do before installing front clip ?

I am at the point of being ready to put my front fenders on but I want to make sure I have everything on and done that I can do much easier than if they were on.

So what would you put on your list as things to definately remember to do before you put them in the way ?

well Jim i don't know what you have already done but most of this I have done or am doing or would like to do with my front clip off.

Strip and paint sub frame
smooth firewall
alum. body mounts
steering box upgrade
re-route wiring between inner/outer fenders
want to do:
ball joints
tubular a-arms
disc brakes
I think that's it..??

If you are running a stock heater box or blower,make sure that blower is installed since you can't get it in with the fender on. (learned that the hard way 14 years ago!)

If you put the front clip on you will have to update your avatar pic. run all hoses and wiring. Maybe even start and break in the motor, get it all tuned up so you don't have to lay over the top of new paint to do it later.

We build the whole interior before hanging the doors an fenders,all wiring an pluming should be done, bleed the brakes, coolant,rad.fans. ect.
At this point it should be final assy. as all mock up an fitment should be done an painted.

I knew I was getting closer to doing it but now I am thinking that starting it up before putting it on is a good thing to do. Hooking up everything other than the lights up front should be done before putting the fenders on from what I am gathering.

So far I am not forgetting anything that I can think of but keep the thoughts coming, this is something we all go thru and I want to make it as easy as possible. I keep telling myself that I am missing something and I am not sure what it is?

You should probably have the car running, and drivable. Go ahead and test everything out. That is my plan anyway.

I've made my wiring harness in my 68' just like the newer cars. Everything just plugs together. That way god forbid something happens I don't have to cut wires. I also welded bolts under my fenders so I can run wires more clean than straping them to the fenders. I use use a small clip and a nut and the harness stays in place. Also make sure you wrap up all your wires to protect them.
