      Project JUST-N-SANE

Over the past 8 years ive had 2 camaros and ended up making one out of two cars..

It is a 1984 Camaro that originally had a 2.8 V6 with a 5 speed and open rear end..

It currenly has 1985 front and rear bumpers and ground effects, 1992 Z-28 rear spoiler, and a fiberglass 4inch cowl hood!

I installed 6 autometer guages in the dash and pillar and center dash.. added a billet stearing wheel and B@M ripper shifter with billet shift ball.

The engine is a 355 Small block, two bolt main with ARP bolts and stock crank and rods. TRW forged flattop pistons(10.3-1) and Dart pro 1 heads with 2.06 and 1.60 valves.. FULL PORTED!!, Dart cool can intake and Holley 750 DP carb, setup by ATI.. 1 5/8 headman headers and single 3 inch exhaust..(currently installing a ATI procharger PSC-1 with 10psi of boost (good for 650+hp on 50/50 race/pump gas)

The tranny is a T56 6 speed from a 97 pontac transam, and a FIdenza aluminum flywheel, and Zoom clutch... Rear end is stock with a Auburn diff and Richmond 4.10 gears.. Tubular rear control arms and panhard rod, Beefed up torque arm..

4 wheel OEM disk brakes.. 17x9.5 Centerline wheels with 275 40 17s all the way around..

Car ran a best of 13.0 at 109mph (traction limited) last year at the local track..(naturally asperated)

Now with the supercharger installed im hopping for 11.50s or better at 125mph.. IF THE REAR END HOLDS UP AND IF TIRES DONT SPIN THE WHOLE WAY DOWN THE TRACK!! LOL

TELL ME WHAT YOU THING OF THE CAR!!!

      Brian

84' Camaro Z-28, 355CID,9.0-1 compression, ATI procharger 9psi (over 650HP),T56 6 speed, 3.73 Motive gears! 11.70 at 122mph in the 1/4 while babying the throttle to keep the tires hooked ,with pump gas! (NOW INTERCOOLED)

      Brian,
I am just curious, how much clearance do you have under the 4" cowl hood?
      Thanks,
      Bill

There isnt much clearance between the blower and the hood but there is lots of clearance between the car and the hood

Brian, nice car my friend has a 84Z28 and he was planning on a procharger. Do you need the 4" cowl to fit the charger?

NO.... I think even a 2.5 or 3inch hood would work... Biggest clearace problem is carb to hood and how tall your intake and or intake spacers are..

      Sounds like a cool car.
My friend raced a IROC for a long time. I couldn't believe he could hang the front tires for about 40 feet!!! It was stock suspension too. Good luck, now lets see some pic's.
