      Tim Allen's 55 Ford at Moal's

Looking forward to seeing this one...here's an excerpt from the linked article.

      - Tim Allen's "Triple Nickel" 1955 Ford Customline is taking shape. This car for Allen (who is best known for his role in the 1991-1999 television show, Home Improvement, as Tim "The Toolman) Taylor) will have a V-8 engine from Ford's supercar, the Ford GT. ("They did one extra for us," said Michael. "When you have a celebrity client, you can get special things done.") Like, getting that engine when only 4,038 Ford GTs were ever built. It will have 600-850 horsepower depending on the setup. The car will also include an Art Morrison chassis with independent front suspension and a '55 T-Bird themed interior and a T-Bird air scoop on the hood.

      It does.

Nice to see something interesting done with those good looking '55-'56 Fords.

Here's some pics Rodger from Ironworks took when he was there a few weeks ago.

I love Steve Moal's work and Tim Allen's taste in cars. This http://www.moal.com/04_gallery/00licorice/index.php is one of my favorite hot rods ever and another Moal/Allen effort. It's a hot car, too, with a strong 351C under the hood.

Tim does have good tastes in car. Him and Leno rock. Chris Titus had some good ones but I'm not sure if he still does since he got divorced recently.

Steve Cook Creations in OKC was building a very cool 56 Ford with 427" SOHC cammer motor,Tremec 5spd,and Winters quick change rear a few years ago. The car was going to be a very high-end build but I don't know if it ever got finished.

Not yet. Car is being blocked and almost ready for paint. I stopped by a few weeks ago to see what he had going on. Car is being built for Bruce Ricks and should be ready for the circuit next year

Mike, are they going to run EFI or carbs on that Cammer?

I hope thats a mockup motor in "triple nickel"!

That looks like a supercharged crate engine from ford, NOT the supercharged ford gt engine!

The GT engine looks totally different - intake, supercharger, belts, alternator, oil dipstick, dry sump oil tank, thermostat, etc.

they out one of these in a starliner they did on Rides tv show awhile back...guy said it took them forever with fitting of the body and fenders to get it to look right and work great...think they did the interior gauges and some of the interior parts too..

We put a lot of work into getting that GT engine to fit right in the 60 Starliner. Very late nights and countless hours test fitting that beast, it seemed like something different was in the way wherever we moved it!

Here are some pics of the Ford GT engine in the "Scarliner" when we finally got it where we wanted it:

Lots of stainless coolant and exhaust plumbing!

I like this much better than the 352(390?) we pulled out of there when we started!

That Starliner is sweet. A local shop did one of those recently, they have great lines. In regards to Tim Allen's next ride, I am sure it will turn out to be a nice ride. I have always liked his taste in cars. I can remember watching Home Improvement when I was a kid hoping it would be one of the episodes about one of the cars.

Agreed 100%! I remember seeing him drive a 600+ hp impala around the track that someone built for him. It was hilarious because it didn't hook at all and he just seemed to be having the time of his life!

That build was quite a feat. Jon Moss and crew made it happen.
