Get the marquez one but make sure you provide a few months to get it.

What is the deal with the Rod Doors version? Did you buy one already and regret it? Not good quality? Poor fitment? Bad service?

Please let me/us know as I was close to pulling the trigger on one. Was a little skeptical as the person I spoke to on the phone about it was just like a used car salesman - seemed very "slinky".

The Marquez one looks nice but super pricey.

      Thanks.

X2 whats exactly is the issue with the Rod Doors one?

Marquez = Pricey + service is widely questioned.

I have no experience with them or it.. but i keep my ear to the pavement on a LOT of sites.. and the general consensus of my knowledge is that their headliner is terrible.. like (cut it in half to get it in) terrible.. like (wobbly not fit no good) terrible..

      do a search.. youll see.

Don't mean to jack this thread but I have a question.

Anyone have any experience installing a Marquez headliner in a car with a 6 point cage already installed?

Depends on how tight your cage is but you could get it in by pulling the front glass I believe. I can find out for you If you tell me how much room you have.

The part is a good buy in my opinion considering you can easy cover it yourself.

Don't know were the service rumors always come from, seems there is always two truths to every story,

I measured every way you can to see if you could fit one in from the front with a cage in the car and you have to be a magician to do it.

I made mine in 4 pieces and could have done it in 2 or 3 but ease of installation called for 4 pieces. Mine is made out of aluminum and looks great up front, I need an english wheel to finish the back half and will go to the wheel when the car rolls on it's own.

headliners are sooo much fun !!!!

Lots of drama over them there......wow.....some quick trigger tempers...yikes......nice to be a part of a happy family over here at Pro-Touring.com...

      Anyhow, I have a question....or a statement with a question...

Back in the day (mid 80's) my pal, John, had a 1975 Nova SS in great shape. Your standard mods available back then, mostly motor related. Anyhoo John had installed his own custom headliner made from a somewhat thick foam material. It was maybe 3/4" thick with a black almost vinyl like surface that was then glued up nicely to the roof area. Some time was put into it as far as getting the edges right, but since it was flexible and thick it stuck to the roof area nicely without any bumps or imperfections. Now I have lost touch with John (moved far away) and his Nova met an ugly demise after it was sold locally, so I can't check out this work from long ago.

My question is......and maybe I am answering it myself....what is to stop us from doing the same thing.....get an agreeable foam base, cut it to the right contours, wrap it in the material of choosing, and install it in our cars??? Can't imagine the materials costing more than a $100.

Can picture the dusty wheels spinning in my head already.........
