      68 Camaro 8 radiator comparison

I'm looking at my options to upgrade my 68 Camaro radiator. I know everyone has their favorites and that even the best units have their ocassional flaws.

I'm talking about an aluminum unit for a manual car that has a Mark VIII fan that I'll retain (which requires a core width of at least 22.5"). It's pretty amazing that this fan keeps my car cool on a stock, small block radiator but I'm planning to finally charge my AC and I'll need more cooling power.

So here is what I've got so far with the various models:

      Be Cool (Summit #BCI-10009) // 22.5" core // 1.0" tubes // $300
      Entropy (EBAY) // 22.5" core // 1.0" tubes // $359
      Howe // ? core // ? tubes // $399
      Afco (Summit #AFC-80251N) // 22.75" core // 1.0" tubes // $427
      Griffin (Summit #GRI-6-567AE-BXX) // 23" core // 1.25" tubes // $540
      Be Cool (Summit #BCI60168) // 24" core // 1.0" tubes // $674
      Ron Davis (#1-16CA6769) // ? core // 1.0" tubes // ? price
      Fluidyne (#FHP30-67Cam) // ? core // ? tubes // ? price

I've had Be Cool, Griffin and Ron Davis all without any problems. I couldn't find a Summit or Northern radiator that had a core of at least 22.5" for a manual transmission Camaro. There is also probably a few more that I've missed but that's what I got so far.

What's the difference in the two Be Cool's above other than 1.5" of core width and $374?

Why is there such a wide range of pricing for all about the same sized units. Is a $359 Entropy going to perform just as well in my application as a $674 Be Cool?

There have been tons of posts on radiators but now there seems to be such a wide assortment of options and fierce competition amoung manufacturers. Funny how Be Cool noticed this and has a lower priced Eliminator model to try to appeal to both ends of the market.

So, do I just throw a dart on the wall; go with one of the big names; try the value priced models?

I really wish I had fewer options!

Look what was waiting for me when I returned from San Diego. Looks pretty good for $400 including freight (Entropy from EBAY).
