03-24-2005 #1I'm sorry I don't have any sources for that kind of quality pics, but I had a question or 2... maybe I'm a little confused by the "professional rendering" process, but if the artist is asking for high quality digital pics to work from, it sounds like he's probably gonna photochop 'em. Is that the way this artist works? Just curious really...

03-24-2005 #2Budda,
Yes he was going to Photoshop the car at two different angles... To be honest with you, I have Photoshop 7.0 on my computer and I can't figure out how to do anything on there. I would like to think I am pretty good on the computer but there is just soooooo much there..... I get lost easily. I wish I had a better idea of how that program works because I have sooooo many ideas but instead I have to keep them in my head. Thanks for the info. guys!!!!

I'm no great visual artist by any means (I couldn't draw to save my life), but I've been successful using more basic photo editing software and have gotten some decent results. In fact, I've been doing more and more photochops, mainly for fun. I wish I could offer a simple tutorial, but I'm terrible at writing out this kind of process based work (which surprises even me considering I'm a doctoral student in music composition). I know there are tutorial sites out there, and even whole forums dedicated to photochopping cars (and everything else). You might look around.
Hmmm... maybe I'll work on a basic tutorial anyway...
Good luck!
03-25-2005 #4If you end up putting something together let me know.... I can't figure out how to edit a picture at all from its original state... How do you for example cut wheels of of a car and install a different style? If a car is one solid color and I wanted to make it two-tone, how do you edit this where you only change 1/2 the color? Those are probably really easy actions but it is WAY over my head. I played around with it last night until midnight and got NOWHERE!! :( Let me know if you put something together. Thanks

Sorry to but in on this thread, but I just got photoshop on my computer, and can't figure it out for the life of me. If anyone would be kind enough to explain a couple of the basics like change car colors, changing wheels, or lowering, that would be awesome.

03-28-2005 #6That's exactly what I'm saying..... I got Photoshop 7.0 on my computer but I can't for the life of me figure it out... It is just way to complex. I know it is all about layers but it is just too far over my head. Are there any tutorials that we can look at? I'm only looking to do simple changes, nothing professional for now... Thanks

03-28-2005 #8I did a super quick search on Google with "photoshop tutorials for cars" and got several good hits. You guys might check out:
http://www.pslover.com/tutorials/Basics/1 and http://www.photoshopjunkie.com/tutorials/
I started thinking about writing my own, but it seems there are plenty out there already.
Hope this helps...
