I think ecclestone can be dealt with. He knows that his series is worthless w/o McMerc and the f-cars. In fact there are no less than 3 tracks (Monte Carlo at the head) who have said that if Ferrari isn't racing you cannot have the dates. He knows where his bread is buttered.

I'm torn on the money thing. On one hand I'd like to see more than 1-2 competitive teams on a year in year out basis. But on the other hand, F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle. The all-in pursuit of building and driving the fastest thing man can create.

Not sure where the middle ground is in that, or if there is one.

I think one thing that may work, is attracting more factory sponsors. Plain and simple, privateer teams will never be able to compete in an open format, where teams are allowed blank check budgets.

But then again, I'd hate to see F1 become so mundane, just to accommodate those low budget teams. I mean, there are plenty of other lower-performance series that teams can go race, if they can't hang in F1. However, I can see it conceivably becoming only Merc vs. Horse, if they're allowed blank checks...

Good news about Mosley, hoplefully Bernie is next!

I agree with you True about the budget cap they proposed. This sport is supposed to be the Pinnacle, so why a budget cap?

I think Frank Williams has been lobbying for most of the rule changes as well as the budget cap to help the Privateer teams.

I can't stand Bernie Eclsestone since he ditched the Canadian GP for this year. I hope it comes back next year.

Brawn also has Ferrari to thank. However, I guess that'd be really the only exception, kind of...

I was so glad to hear today's news. I've been enjoying this years F1 series more than I have in years.

Here's a great shot of Max having breakfast with all his fans, friends and admirrers.

      True,
Next year we should see a much closer points battle between Brawn, Ferrari, Red Bull, Williams, and ,I hope, McMerc(I'm a huge Lewis fan). Also, I'm on the edge of my seat to see who Team USF1 puts in the drivers seat.

Ross Brawn is the man! You have to respect what he has done throughout his career. Michael S. is a good driver, but without Ross who knows where he would have finished in the overall standings.

i'd probably actually start liking F1 if they'd open things up and let everyone in. it just seems a bit too elitist for my tastes.
say what you will about NASCAR, but anyone can build a car and show up to try to get in any of the races.
i do like how F1 does the qualifying, tho.

That qualifying setup is a master-stroke of brilliance. The best thing F1 has done in years.

      Regarding Brawn:

"Ross Brawn was at Benetton, Benetton won. He moved to Ferrari, and Ferrari won. Now he's got his own team, and Brawn are winning. I don't want to be impolite with this question, but was it the car?"
