Computer programmer for way too long. Work for a major music label as a technical lead managing projects / engineers and designing financial platforms / applications.

Keeps the lights on and pays the mortgage but pretty cut and dry. Working on cars keeps me sane. Plus I'm a perfectionist and one of the few places I really try to get things done right without worrying about resources all the time.

Cool thing is next month I have India business trip coming up. Probably a lot of travel in my future as trying to take some applications global within the company.

I know exactly what you do... I've had to test Fire Alarms in the Bunny suits before. It's kinda fun to be a White Ninja for a day.

fortunately it's not the full bunny suit; just a smock, hairnet and face mask. I've done the bunny suit thing at another job, pita when you've got to leave the room for a bathroom break.

Just graduated from UC Santa Barbara with degrees in Cold War History and English in June 2008 thinking I could find a job writing or in museums, archives, ect.

Needless to say, not many are hiring in that field and I am still (greatfully) employed at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

After reading these I am almost embarassed, I'm just a measly electrician. Mainly industrial and commercial but do some residential on the side. Things are very slow construction wise in Louisville but I still get 40 hous and an occasional Saturday. I'm just happy to be working everyday. I want to get into a maintenance job and get out of the construction side.

I've been in IT since 1982.

I've worked primarily in application systems development, with some systems and network administration over the years.

I've held all positions from programmer, analyst, database administrator, manager, to director.

I've also done a good deal of IT consulting over the years, and have been published 3 times.

Currently, I work for a commercial software company that supplies software and services that run utility companies in the USA and Canada.

Recently, I've been writing the programs to upgrade our customer databases from older versions of our system to the latest version. I also do a fair amount of developer training.

I'm lucky enough to telecommute 100%, and I absolutely love it!
