How to choose fuel rails?

I need to find a set of fuel rails for an Edelbrock manifold, #29135.
What do I need to know to make sure I get the right rails? The Edelbrock parts are not currently available, or I would just use them.

I have placed a set of GM rails from a Ram Jet 350 manifold on the injectors, and they line up with the injectors, so as far as I can tell any SBC rails should work. All I'd need to do is figure out what to do to mount (or tie down) the rails.
Of course, this is just an assumption, and I'm hoping you folks can tell me if it's correct or not.

Also, what is the preferred way to run the regulator and the line connecting the two rails?
