18's or 18/19 combo on my 68 camaro?

what shall I do?
20's are too big. 19's in the rear are perfect, or is it overdone?

19 tires are hard to find. I'd either do a 17/18 combo or all 18s. They look good if you stagger overall diameter about 1" front to rear because of the wheel-well shape.

I personally wouldn't do a 17/18 combo,the 17's always look to small to me but hey...that's just personal opinion.
I think you'd be real happy with 18's all around.

do you care about straight line traction? If so 19's would not work well for you. they are typically hard compound and have a small hard sidewall.

I think 18s are the ticket for a street car. But if you are gonna be going to do any type of racing at all, 17s should be considered.

Okay Guys, thanks for all the advice.
I decided to go with 18-19" wheels. My car will not be a race or track car, just for cruisin around.

What size tires would be the best?

Given the wheels sizes you've specified, I'd run 245/40-18's up front and 275/35-19's in the rear. This gives you a rear tire that is almost an inch larger in diameter (26.7") than the fronts (25.6") which will maintain similar sidewall heights front and rear. Less sidewall in the rear doesn't look right to me and you can typically tolerate a little more tire height in the back than you can in the front before rubbing becomes an issue. Anything taller than 26" up front seems to just be asking for rubbing issues, assuming your car is lowered the usual 2-3 inches at ride height.

Camaro will have airride. Low during show, high while in drive.

Thinking of 4.75 backspacing up front and 5.5 for the rear.

what if I go with a 10"wheel in the rear? 285 or 295 tires?

Non-mini tubbed I think the biggest you can use is a 285...

But I'd love to be proved wrong.. I'm looking to do a similar setup on my 68 Airide and 285's non tubbed

I love 18/19 combos. The staggered look is great and gives it a nice and clean stance. I ran 18s on my Camaro all the way around because 18/20 was too much of a difference. It's hard to find nice wheels where they are made in 18/19 with the correct offset and width for the rear. Sure they exist, but it's difficult to find the perfect combination.
