The best pro touring rim/tire sizes?????

I have a 70 road runner. I want to make it into a real all around handling/braking/accelerating machine.

If you were to pick the perfect rim/tire size taking brake sizing into account, in your opinion what would be the ideal combo?

I was thinking around the 19" area, but I think that I will lose alot in tire options. Maybe 18's, or even 17's???????

I want as big of a brake that will fit inside the rim that I can and still not comprimise overall performance.

I am going to mini tub the car and was looking in the 325-345 width area for the rears. Fronts, wherever that falls.

That's a very sensitive issue around here based on people's style and personal taste but in my opinion, you're on the right track proportionally and style-wise with 19s all the way around and there's little or no sacrifice with tire sizes since that's what most supercars come with. You actually have a lot of options between 325, 335, and 345 mm.

You could never go wrong with Rushforth's. I would go 19/20 but thats just me.

Roadrunner is a big car....19/19 or 19/20's, IMO

Hammer runs 275/19's and 335/20's.......not bad at all

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The RR is a large car, its can handle some 19s and 20s. Would look great. Now on my lil 62 nova it would look odd IMO. 17s all around for mine. Lil small for many folks. JR

Go with the same sizes Strope used on Hammer. Great fit and stance on a big body Mopar.

i would make the decision based on how big of a brake you NEED. that may be a 13" brake, now choose the smallest wheel diamter that fits the brake, this will keep your performance level high. now decide on the outside diameter of tire you can fit. then choose a width/aspect ratio that will give you this diamter. for my cars the smaller the diameter tire the wider i can go to clear the fenders. this also allows me to lower my car more. i plan on running a 245/40/15 on the fronts of my falcon. but it is a small car at 2700lbs and only needs 11.75" brakes in the front.
