      battery relocated to trunk now....

Hey guys I know there are a couple of different schools of thought on this subject but I really am looking for a consistent opinion. So i moved the battery to the trunk of my car- actually both cars. 68 and 02 camaro. Would you guys run the positive cable through the interior (inside) or would you run the cable along the bottom frame rail/unibody of the 02 camaro. The car of concern right now is the 02 camaro. Thanks guys. Chris

Do what is easiest but the outside on the frame sounds easier to me.

Is the cable "live" all the time?
      Or only during cranking?

If you are worried about placement and it shorting I would be a Ford solenoid on the cable and only have it "live" during cranking.

I ran mine inside the car with gromets in the firewall that I found from quickcar. I think you will find just as many posatives as negatives in the argument for each way though. I just liked how clean it looked having it come out not far away from my starter. with a little slack of course.

that is the only way I'd wire it.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?

If it's only live for cranking, how else do you take care of your power distribution needs? Rewire it all to terminate in the trunk?

Your going to need a large power source for the fuse block and alternator regardless, and it will run the length of the car. A quality battery cable has way more insualtion than a regular wire. I'd rather have a long run with a quality battery cable and put your junction closer to the fuse block. Now a large circuit breaker is a really good idea. My cable runs through the interior as i didn't want to take a chance with road debris or moisture.

You can easily fuse the power run for the fuse block and alternator. However, fusing the cranking battery cable is a different story...
