Where to install temp sending unit

Where do you guys have your temp sending units? I've had it in the passenger side head (small block chevy) but was thinking to relocate it to the intake, near the thermostat housing. When I initially installed it there it I did it because it was the shortest distance from the firewall but I've been thinking that being so close to the combustion chambers and headers might give me an inaccurately high reading. I always get nervous when it creeps up to over 200 but that might be normal based on the location of the temp sending unit. What do you think? Should I move it to the intake? If so, what temperatures are you comfortable with when read at the intake? Thanks!

Mount the sending unit in the boss on the intake manifold that is provided for that purpose, it is located close to the thermostat housing. This is the best spot because it will give you a combined temp reading between the left and right bank of the engine. You will have to experiment between a 160* and 180* thermostat, if your cooling system is up to the job shoot for about 160* cruzing in avg weather, that will give you a cusion for stop and go driving and hotter weather, run the highest pressure cap that your radiator and hoses can handle.
