Lcd gauge cluster/engine monitoring system? Does it exist?

Hey PT guys, i've got a quick question and i've searched google a buncha times with no luck.

I'm trying to see if there is some type of LCD/Car computer system that would allow me to monitor all the typical gages (speedo, tach, fuel, etc) and also have a built in radio/cdplayer/navigation system all in one unit. Does such a thing exist? I know some of the newer cars (mercedes and what not) have these things in production or in research.

I would like to consolidate all of my guages and electronics into one unit (as I am planning my interior/dash/etc) if i can.

Any help or links are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I don't think anyone sells this sort of thing yet.
First, it sounds really complicated, since you want it to integrate gauges and audio and navi.

I do know there is a unit out there (Racepack?) that can show different gauges in different formats. I don't really like the LCD thing, bot other than that it's an awesome unit.

If you are talking navigation you need a color screen, so that adds some complexity.

Plus, this should all take up some space if you want it to show everything at once. Getting it to fit can be an issue.

I looked at the Magden Technologies system, and it seems like exactly what I need (minus the audio stuff), but it only works with OBD II systems.

The truck is actually getting a first gen chevy small block with Holly Multi-point fuel injection system. I can't find out if the Holly ECU will support OBD II. Anyone know ?

I don't need all the guages and audio/navi stuff to be displayed at once. I just want maybe a 7"-10" LCD display on the dash and that is it.

      Thanks again everyone!

They have basically everything you need to build a carputer, including forums where people have installed custom carputers in just about everything.

I plan on using a Mac Mini for the Nova, but that's a ways off, so I might change it up.

I was going to suggest this. I ran a carputer for a bit, and will again when we're back on our feet financially. The streetdeck software they sell on mp3car is awesome.

Pretty much anything you can imagine is possible with one of these systems.

I use the Pioneer one on my 65 Chevelle and I wouldnt recommend it. It shows speed, tach, and voltage and it's a pain to use. Everytime you power up you need to hit ok because of the liability message...blah blah use at your own risk blah blah. And it only works with certain types of head units and only one monitor which is impossible to find. Not a good way to go....

Here is one, but doesn't have the radio. Although you can play Mp3's from it.

I don't think anything like this exists that does not require ODB2. That isn't to say that it could not be done otherwise, but that would entail application specific reverse engineering and then probably custom software.

The car computer stuff is the closest thing to combining what you want.

The dashdaq has interfaces to FAST, Accel, and a couple other aftermarket EFI ECUs.

if you've heard of Wolf EMS they have something like they too for their v4 and v500 ECU's. 3 different trim levels for the digi dash depending on what you need too. I read quickly, but it looks like it will also take independent analog inputs.

Oh snap, I do remember now that their website had aftermarket systems that their unit will work with. Thanks again Parsons

Hey thanks for the info man, but that seems like its more race-car oriented. My apologies for not saying that I was looking for an LCD system like the T.V. screen technology, not the one you pictured above. But thank you again
