      Carb Flooding on Shutdown

I have a Holley Red pump (internally regulated at ~6psi) and Holley 4150 that is flooding on engine shutdown. While running, the fuel level in both bowls are correctly set to the bottom of the site plugs.

After driving and shuting it down, it is hard to restart and I've noticed it leaking on the manifold and the butterflies are wet. Thinking that it was a stuck float, I noticed that the sight plugs showed that both fuel bowls are overfilled. I now suspect the fuel pressure is getting too high at some point or at shutdown.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

      Thanks,
      Steve

Add a shut down toggle switch to the fuel pump relay, few seconds before shut off kill pump and let the engine use a litlle fuel out of the carb, its boiling in the line.

He is correct, your heating the line and building preasure that is bypassing the needle and seat. Check you oil for gas smell, change oil if too much gas.
