      DSE Wiper motor question

      Does anyone know for sure what application the DSE wiper motor is from?
      The 4th gen Camaro and C5 motors look similar, but have only 5 wires. The DSE unit has 8 wires. My suspicion is that it is a 2000 up Cadillac Deville motor, which has the same 8 wires as the DSE.
      I am trying get the best match in a column mounted switch. There are three wire switches that put full 12v on the speed control wire for wash which is then interepreted by the solid state in the wiper motor to trigger the washer pump, 4 wire switches (like 4th gen Camaro) that run a separate circuit with a diode for the washer pump, and the Cadillac that uses a 4 wire switch, which inputs into the solid state on the wiper motor.
      I believe that the 2000 up caddy is the new style column, ad thus the wiper switch will not work in the old syle tilt/cruise columns.



      I will be glad to share diagrams etc for this when I get it figured out.

      i think i read somewhere that it is a motor off of 88-98 fullsize pickup.i hope that was a help.

      It is for sure a Cadillac Deville motor. Not a 4th gen Camaro, or Blazer, or Full size truck. I just pulled one from a 2001.

      I'd love the wire diagrams if you still have them.

      I can check my 4th gen switch.

      I had forgotten all about this post. I have the wiring figured out to use the 4th gen column switch along with the wash/wipe functionality with the washer pump controlled by the wiper motor.

      I found what appears to be the exact same rotary switch that DSE uses. I believe this is it.

      BTW, the DSE switch has a mini circuit board on the back with all the resistors built in. I have not finalized my wiring setup for this and have yet to get the park feature to work yet, but this is the switch I have been testing with. I may need to go to the same switch only with 2 poles to make the wiring a bit simpler, but the wipers on on the back burner for now.

      It is, I verified it with a few owners of the DSE kit.

      The problem is I can't figure out how to make my own switch for it......yet....

      Good find on the other switches guys, I might have to try those out.
