The coolers don't care which direction the fluid flows.

If you are going to drive in cool weather just remember to use a thermostat for tranny coolers or plumb it back into radiator so it doesnt get too cool.

      Hi,

I've also just installed a tranny cooler and need a little help

I've got a 96 4l60e (camaro), which line is "out" and "in" and how do I locate them?

What is the optimal temp range for the trans fluid (what is too cool?)

Alright, I found the oil cooler line locations from this page:

      http://racetransmissions.com/mainpag...ing/index.html

As for the fluid it seems from what I've just read that most automotive fluids are designed to operate optimally at ~175 F/80 C. I'm not sure how much lower is "dangerous", but I guess the lubrication and viscosity is lowered gradually causing somewhat more wear on moving parts. Not by far as bad as overheating though...
