      67 impala from Folsom CA

I had posted in an older thread. One of the members there suggested I introduce myself in this forum. First of all I really love Pro-touring cars. Currently I would not consider my car Pro_touring Calibre, but over the next few years who knows. right now my car is a 67 Impala 2 fastback. So far i have installed a SBC 350 with mild cam, reworked heads, edelbrock performer and edlelbrock 1406 Carb. i really had wanted to go with RamJet 350 but it didn't fit my budget. I also have a TH350 with Phase II shift kit, eventually it will probably go and a 700R will replace it. Next week the front suspension gets torn apart to add a PST original Suspension kit. Also going in next week is a 1 1/8 inch front sway bar, and 1" rear sway bar. Eventually i would like to go to 17 inch wheels but for now I 15x8 rears P265-15 and 15x7 P225-15 fronts. Also i still have 4 wheel drums.
here is a photo of my car

love the website and all the great rides

Future upgrades will be front discs and maybe re-bushing and boxing my rear lower control arms.

Welcome to the board. You should go to the Red Robin off of Wales on Wednesday. Lots of carguys with cars, a decent ammount pro-touring usually.

I wish I could go, but I moved the to the wrong end of the state.

      I have a 67 fastback too!
I wish mine looked like yours...
Do a front disc conversion and some bigger rims and you're done as far as I'm concerned!
I managed to put C6 Vette (18/19)rims on my ride...I had do buy some decent adapters but it looks alot better!
      I'll try posting a link...

The funny thing is I am still not sold on disc brakes for the impala. right now it is 4 wheel manual drums. I like the real clean engine bay without a power brake booster. If i went to Disc Brakes i would need to go to power brakes and add the booster. On a 57 chevy I had years ago I tried front manual discs and it was really a chore to stop the car. I was thinking of upgrading to Praise Dyno with Cyogenically treated drums with ceramic shoes. I guess my goal is not to build a true pro-touring, but rather an old school type of car. If I had the money I would go all out and make it a full blown touring car and would be upgrading the syspension right now to hotchkiss tubular A Arms and all the goodies and probably would also do the disc brake conversion. Sometimes though the budget draws the line for you.
