yesterday I saw a new challenger and an original one. The new one was nice, but very "bulky", massive while the old one looked light and slim...don't know how to decribe it properly but looking at the Camaro pics I think the difference is less there.

The challenger might as well be an SUV its so bloated. One thing I don't like that the manufacturers are trying too hard with the "chopped" look that started with the 300c and Charger. The doors end up being really tall.

The First Gen interior is fifty times better and more comfortable than the new camaro. I felt insanely cramped in the car, to the point where I would not be able to drive it daily...

yeah the guy was an automotive journalist. The car is WAY too tight on the inside. GM tried way to hard to make it feel like a cockpit.

I don't know about that. I drove an SS back in December and I thought the interior room was sufficient. And I'm built like Shrek. The only thing I didn't like was the headroom with the sunroof. I had to bend my head slightly and lean the chair way back. I hope the non-sunroof model has more headroom. I plan to buy one for my next vehicle when my wife's Outlook is paid off in 3 years. If the non-sunroof model is not much better, I will have to pass. And that'll be too bad.

I am digging everything except for the interior... :(

I want to like it soooo bad, but those gauges just look cheap and the all grey interior reminds me of my 97 TransAm, which I hated. I thought I died and went to heaven when I bought my 00 Tahoe because the interior was so much nicer, and then it got even better when I bought my 04 GTO.... I dont know if I can live with a plain interior again.

As for the comments on the Challengers, I have to admit that we bought one for my wife and It is a big car, the interior feels huge, but not cheap. That damn car gets more attention than anything I have ever owned! I have been holding on to the GTO in anticipation of the new Camaro, maybe that orange interior trim option will help the interior out

Ya know....when the photos of the Chally started circulating, the ones in orange, I hated it. I thought it looked TOO MUCH like the original but somehow....overinflated. Too bulbous and just big. I still think it looks too much like the original, but having seen a few in person now and in a couple of different colors it is starting to grow on me. In black or silver it is really quite a good looking car. Orange.....not so much.

What I like is the size. The new Challenger is huge when sitting next to the old. I agree with the statement on the interior, very nice.

I still like it! I do not like the steering wheel one bit though. But the dash doesnt bother me or the center console. That steering wheel would have to go, if possible since it has controls and stuff in it.

IMHO it looks pretty generic. The interior is bulbus and bland looking. I'm sure with some decent wheels(read:aftermarket) and tires, along with a lower ride height, it will look alot better. The Nickey renderings that I've seen look real nice.
I don't think the new Camaro or Challenger look any better than the current Mustang.

I wanted to buy a new Camaro until I sat in it... my '04 Mustang has much nicer interior... and it has the standard cloth seats without any real upgrades. Heck, I consider the 4th gen's nicer than the inside of this one...

I sure don't want it to look like a '69 Camaro inside... hell, I think they tried way too hard to make it that way, and screwed up. The square gauges on a curvy dashboard with nothing to accent it or break up the monotony of its curving plastic is just hideous.

I used to be a "nothing but GM" guy... not anymore. The new Mustang is growing on me too, though I am not the biggest fan of the back end... was looking at the convertible GT they had flipped on it's side at the show... the interior was very neat, whole car put a smile on my face...

Looks just like the one I saw down the street from my work at this place that tests new cars of all makes and models. I'm not sure the name of the company, but there are always cars parked in their lot that are not being sold yet.

Anyways, they had 2 of them at this place and I was able to give them a good inspection. There was a black SS model with auto trans a cloth interior & 20" wheels that looks identical to the one in the pics. Then there was a silver V6 model with a leather interior, also with an automatic.

The SS looked nice, but I was amazed at how shrunk-down the side windows were (almost like the top was chopped) and how small the back seat looked. I also thought they could have made the stance a little more aggressive (think BMW M3), it looked to sit a little high all around in my opinion. But overall a nice looking car and one that I would consider driving some day. But there is no way I'd buy a new Chevrolet product with the way they typically depreciate. I'd let someone else take the big hit and get a low-mileage used one in a couple years for a lot less.
