      which brake fluid?

Is non-synthetic DOT 3 the best stuff to use? 4-wheel disc brake setup, street use.

      Thanks,

Performance Friction is good DOT 3 fluid. It has a high boiling point (over 500 deg). However Autozone used to carry it and the only place I can find it now is on the internet. I wanted something I could find almost anywhere and still be a good brake fluid.

I am using the Valvoline synthetic DOT 4 brake fluid (boiling point is 502 deg, per valvoline web site). It is compatible with all DOT 3 & 4 fluids also and it is not silicone. I would not use the silicone DOT 5. I have been told Wagner DOT 4 brake fluid is good as well.

Aha... I got synthetic and silicone mixed up. So, maybe a DOT 4 synthetic from the local parts store is better, as long as it's not silicone? (if they would even carry it anyway?)

      Thanks,
