I've been a Kenwood user for years. I'll admit their UI's were horrible the past few generations. You may take a look into this years lineup. I just installed a KIV-BT900 for a friend, and will be ripping out my 4 month old Kenwood to replace it.
Full color LCD display, displays cover art and ID3 tag info from either an iPod, Zune, or flash drive. Fantastic UI, great EQ, and good pre-outs. Another interesting thing about it is that it has no CD input, however has 512 MB of internal storage of digital media. Great for people like me who haven't used a CD in years.
