Water Transfer Printing

Does anyone know a manufacture for this type of equipment. We are kicking back looking at a gun that was coated and wondering what the equipment cost is.

One of my previous employers bought a complete setup to prototype some parts. It was expensive! I think they got it all from a company called "Immersion Graphics".

You have to be a licensed rep to do it too. I think the printed films are also fairly expensive, but I can't remember the actual costs.

We played around and made all sorts of stuff look like carbon fiber. We were going to make my buddy's TQ Midget body panels look like wood grain - just for fun!

I was just talking to them the other day and they still have all of the equipment just sitting a trailer and not being used. I doubt they would sell it though. It was very cool to play with though.

We've got a business here in Mid-Missouri that has a set-up and I just can't tell if they are taking the business serious or not. The process is very interesting and the applications are almost endless. The film is actually pretty cheap at 1 cent per square inch of material. From what I gather the tank system is just like a big hot-tub. Coming from the LCD business I was figuring that the machine would not be that expensive and the film would cost more, but from what I gather, this may not be the case. I would entertain buying a system though, however the automation is something that I don't think is needed for what I'm looking at doing.

You could probably get by for much cheaper if you were going to do everything manually in a smaller tank. The setup that we dealt with was big enough that you could almost do a small car hood. It also had some automation built in.

Keep us posted if you start to do some work.
