      68 Camaro

Got the car back from C.Hopkins and bolted all the trim and stuff. Sure took a lot of grinding and beating to get the front end straight. After i get back from Iraq it will be time for paint.

I am Crew Chief with Combat Search and Rescue, do you remember us being in your country? We traveled about every weekend and ok so we got stuck on Snaefellsjokull in my 91 Honda Accord. We drove to the top from the south and went down on the northside but could not get back up. So we went to the west to go around the base of it and got stuck. We never were worried about traveling because your people are so helpful. Your 84 looks good its coming along nice.

Welcome to the site. The first picture of your car looks good. Do you have any before C. Hopkins pictures. I saw them at Year One last year. Overall, how is there work? Have you decided on a color? What is your powerplant gonna be?

Here is the day I picked it up, i looked good from about 20 ft away. The suspension was stock so it road like a log trunk. I reworked the springs and bushings then drove it for about a year. Next I replaced a lot of the interior and drove it for about another year before I put in a ZZ4 and rung it out for awhile. I took it apart and tried to do the quarters my self but it started to get a little crazy. I always had a back-up plan to take it to the guys at the "Installation Center" if it got out of hand and which it did. Those guys did a great job and are very professional. I highly recomend them. Once I get back from Iraq I plan on getting it painted silver.

      Looking pretty sharp!

I'm thinking about going with the DSE frame connectors as well - how tall do they stick up from the floor pans (looks like an inch or so)? Do you think there would be any fitment issues with off the shelf molded carpet in those areas?

      Thanks,

      Edward

It is about 1.5 inches. I dont know if the factory carpet will fit over it. I plan on putting cute pile carpet in.

Thanks for checking. I think 1.5" is probably a little high for a factory style molded carpet to fit well (maybe with a bit of heat?).
