Go with a 5.7/6.1 hemi.....lighter than a mopar small block and good power. All the parts are available to do the swap and the value of the car would be higher.

True the late model HEMI will make it easier to sell.

But an LS1 will create more shock and aaww (however you spell that).

Either way a fast 70 Dart will be COOL!!

Or there is always the junk yards and ebay (same thing).

I'm a newb here, but I am still not convinced of the new hemi's prowess. I hear that they are limited in the amount of lift available. I personally like the idea of the ls1. I think it would be an easier swap, and the aftermarket is very friendly with this engine. You can build a carbureted ls1 that will make gobs of power.

Headers?, motor mounts? oil pan?, starter? transmission?....gonna be a couple obstacles putting it into an Abody.

Torsion bars and center link can cause issues fitting an LS1. A small block mopar would be a ton easier swap

I would go the hemi route. and not because it say's hemi. the new hemi's put out very good power and are easily modifed. the power from upgrades are very close to what's avalible from ls motors and the fact it's a dodge product will increase the resale value since it is in a dodge.
general I am very gm loyal but this is one case that the hemi does make more sense.
