RIP Billy Powell / Lynyrd Skynyrd
Well , Billy Powell of Lynyrd Skynyrd has died.
All the good old musicians are dying off.
I'm sad.
This leaves in question , the future of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Here's a quote from Wikipedia :
"The reunited band was meant to be a one-time tribute to the original lineup, captured on the double-live album Southern By The Grace Of God/Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Tour - 1987. The fact that the band chose to continue after the 1987 tribute tour caused legal problems for the survivors, as Judy Van Zant Jenness and Teresa Gaines Rapp (widows of Ronnie and Steve, respectively) sued the others for violating an agreement made shortly after the plane crash, stating that they would not "exploit" the Skynyrd name for profit. As part of the settlement, Jenness and Rapp collect nearly 30% of the band's touring revenues (representing the shares their husbands would have earned had they lived), and hold a proviso which forces any band touring as "Lynyrd Skynyrd" to contain at least two members of the pre-crash lineup. Since Collins, Wilkeson amd Billy Powell are now dead, Ed King unable to tour due to ongoing heart problems, and Pyle on the outs with the others and facing his own legal problems, that leaves Gary Rossington as the Skynyrd standard-bearer."
Of course , me being a Southern Boy , I am sentimental about Skynyrd.
I hope they keep playing.

...didn't that guy have like 9 lives though,he actually survived the plane crash,didn't he?

Ed King lived near me in Nashville when I bought a Hugger Orange 69 Camaro SS that his girlfriend that she got brand new when in high school. Nice guy that was lot's of fun to talk to about the early days!
