The one with the files? yes, I did. But I forgot Catia and SolidWorks can't talk to each other. So I tried to download a free trial of a converter software, but it isn't working too well right now. I might need some PDF copies of the dimension drawings or something so I can just re-do it.

Crap, I totally forgot you were on SW. I just assume everyone uses the best! haha. And SW and CATIA are owned by the same company so they should make a converter. Do you want a step or igs file? I will convert it today if it will work for you?

haha! I forgot to mention it until I went to open them and thought "oh crud, I can't do anything with these..". I use what I can get and SW is it. I also happen to be certified in it too, but I can use other programs. I'm pretty sure either type would work. I just don't have SW at my work so I can't look until I get home either way. If you could convert them that would be great! Definitely save me a good bit of trouble.

Depending on what version of SW you are running - the auto feature regognition feature is pretty slick for automatically creating a quick parametric model from a stp iges or parasolid file. It has saved me hours on recreating parts manually. I have thrown some pretty complicated parts at it and I am amazed on how it can go through and pick out all the steps need to make the part as a solid.

      A hint of progress...

      Hello all!

Sorry it has been so long since I updated. Progress has been very slow as of late. On the bright side I got my pedal assembly and my master/slave cyl.'s for my clutch set-up, and some new parts for my strut rods. Getting ready to start my engine rebuild as well. I'll have pictures soon.

I was wondering what was happening here. Isn't getting parts great? I had my V10 delivered, shockwaves will be delivered soon, ordering my steering rack soon... Unlike you however, it'll be months before I can physically enjoy any of it. Keep the progress coming Benjamin!

Yes, I decided that I wasn't making progress and I would like to get it driving before I transfer for the spring semester, so I modified the design slightly, am almost done getting parts, and just need to find some place to work on it. That is my biggest hurdle right now... I don't even have a place to set up a car port.

I forgot to mention, I got a steering rack.. but that will be in V2.0 rather than this iteration.

      My last few items are:
Fuel system (I'd like to do a fuel cell)
get the rear end with swaybar
      New brake lines
      Torsion bars
and some clevises for the suspension

And I think that is about it for parts..

Here is a picture of my most recent acquisitions.

The big sticks of all-thread I got to cut down into smaller studs that I needed but couldn't find.

Looks good. What is the rack out of? Those pedals look nice too, stock A-body or something else?

x2, pedals have to be from something newer tho. The plugs for the brake and clutch switch look new, wish you got the pigtails with those so you could use em

No, those aren't stock A-body pedals. They are out of a Subaru Impreza WRX STI. I really like the pedals in my DD Subaru so I decided to go with them in my Duster. I'm going to get the pigtail for the brakes locally, but I'm not using the clutch switch.

As for the rack, it is out of a Cobalt SS. They had electronic power steering on the column so this is a strong, quick ratio manual rack(14.8:1 if I remember correctly). And you can't beat the price: FREE!

      More Parts!

I just got a package with my 1.09 Torsion bars and shock mounts as well as a couple other random pieces.. Here is a picture. Also, I am working on a place to do the work on my Duster.. it looks promising.

No, I run screw in big chrysler ball joints. I'm pretty sure I use the same upper control arms as you do.. But I can measure them if you need me to. They are adjustable so I can get different lengths if that helps..

Update: More parts are flowing in, but I've hit some hang-ups.

I was going to go ahead and go to a full three-link rear when I changed the rear-end. But I don't have coil-overs. And I don't know if any of the coil-over conversions will fit my Spax Shocks. Companies seem tight lipped about the specs for their systems. I had a cool idea for a torsion bar rear set-up, but that would take a lot of extra time to engineer. I might still do it, but I would like to get it running as soon as possible so I can drive it.

Also, I am having trouble finding an intake manifold for my 360. So if anyone has a good dual plane they might be interested in Selling, please let me know.

I also found a steel building with a concrete floor to work on my car in, so that is a good thing.
