Yep, the 950 hp is a model number, not the CFM rating.

What kind of "better luck" are you talking about? I'm sure you realize that you are in the minority with your comments about his work?

Your not correct, I am in the majority and if you've seen the amount of 4150 Pro-System that I have reworked (thanks for the work Pat!) you would also agree.

LOL, listen, you have probably forgotten more than I'll ever know about carbs, so no disrespect was intended here. My apologies - I came across harshly.

I just want to understand what problems you have found. Is he oversizing the carbs? Is his jetting all wrong? Is he suggesting annular boosters when dog legs are more appropriate? Is he leaving shavings in the fuel bowls? Could you please be a bit more specific?

I think this is a fair question to ask.

      Restomod,
No offense taken and from what I've seen he consentrates most of his time building Dominators and must have some monkey building the 4150's as his calabration was way off.

      Here's one example:

I had a guy with a Factory Five Cobra who ordered a carb from him and supplied him complete engine & driveline specs, 100% street app.

      Ford 408 Stroker
      AFR heads
      Victor Jr intake
      238/244 Hyd roller 112 LDA .577/.580 lift
      MSD Dist
      Headers w/sidepipes

      He builds a 850/1000 cfm
      84/92 jets
      76/36 airbleeds
      45 squiters
      4.5 PV
1/8" holes in throttleplates for bypass air

Carb was over jetted, bypass air holes too large, Powervalve out of range for proper use, squiters too large.

      New cal & mods:
      80/88
      67/25 airbleeds
      31 squiters
      6.5 PV
      Throttleplates replaced with no holes
      Adjustable bypass air system
      Transition circuit jetted

The carb pro sent me has the following
      76/86 jets
      80/36 airbleeds
      40/40 squirters
      6.5 pv front
I don't know anything about air bleeds or where to start but everything else seems to be right on with what I thought I would need. Im not siding with anyone. I haven't installed the carb yet but I do have to say Pat was a great guy to deal with and seems to know his stuff. Carb looks really good too. I'm not going to lie shaker you have me a little worried and anxious to try out this carb.

      Listen to Shaker455!

Best advice and best thing I EVER did was send my Holley to Shaker455! Jeff is the man when it comes to carbs guys! He will continue to get my business with my new engine combination too!

In addition to knowing what he's doing, he wet tests every carb he builds on his own 455 equipped Trans Am and will then spend his time with you on the phone getting things dialed in!! You just can't beat this type of service from any other carb guy/company!

btw My carb was within 1/8 turn on all four idle circuits!! But Jeff went beyond that and took the time to help me sort out my timing to get the full potential out of my engine combination!

My advice... $end that thing back and have Jeff build you a carb.

      V/R,
      Ty

p.s. And put a Poncho engine in that thing! (c:]

Just put the carb on last weekend and the car seemed to run crisper. Top end seemed better too with the same bottom end. Going to the drags in a week or two to find out.

New best with this carb. Drove to the track 300 miles round trip with no problems got 15mpg and ran 12.56 at 108. So I cant say its all because of the carb because I have a gear vendors now too but obviously I picked up something. The cruise up though the car was a little rich which has always been the case even with the other carb.

How much rpm does the Gear Vendors drop you when it's engaged? What's your opinion on them now you're running one?

Dropped about 500-600 depending on how I drive it. I think its worth it. I use 2nd overdrive instead of third to keep the rpms a little higher at the end of the track. That gear splittling sales pitch is a little bs though, need to practice that but can't really see it working because I don't want to over rev the motor. One other note is driveline angles, adding it makes them worse in an a-body.
