      Narrowed and Frenched Bumpers.

I want to narrow my rear bumper on my 69 Camaro. Has anyone done this and how much did you cut out of the middle of the rear bumper?

If I remember right it was about 3/4" on each side, but I just measured the gap between the quarter and the bumper ends, subtracted 1/8", and that's how much I cut out. I cut the bumper at the ends so I didn't have to mess with the mounting points.

Depends on what look you are going for, if you just want it to be narrow cut on the outside but if you are going full custom you need to cut and section it to tuck it to the body for a perfect fit.

Check out the pics towards the middle of this group on the DSE website. They are narrowed and brought into the body as Chris mentions. Lots of extra body work to bring them in flush.

An extensive amount of work was done on these 69 Camaro bumpers by Bruning Auto Design. Good detail pics
