      Steering Wheel Advice/Opinions?

I'm doing some updating on the interior with some Ultra-Lite gauges so I need some advice in the steering wheel dept to go along with them. Here's the old wheel I had.. (hated it).

And here's the one I'm looking at.... Still undecided on it.. Might be 'too much'

What's everyone think? I'd like to stay with a 13" wheel if anyone has any other suggestions.. Thx

I've heard it said before that you should try to get a steering wheel that matches/compliments your wheels.
Robert's 1969 Camaro - 2002 LS1/T56, 10pt cage, Global West Stage III front suspension, HTH truck arm rear suspension, Sprint Cup 9" full-floating rear end, Fikse Mach V 17" up front 18" in the back and still working on it...

That is useful, but it's way more important that the wheel matches your DASH. I see a lot of black with a wee bit of shiny accents. So find a wheel that has just a hint of shiny stuff like a shiny horn ring against black spokes. Make a gauge decision before you but your steering wheel. The wheel should match your gauges.
Also, if your wheel comes with black oxide coated hardware, head down to a good hardware store and replace it with the stainless equivalent.
If you will be buying a Grant wheel, head to the speed shop and check out the quality in person. Many of their wheels have leather inlays that start to separate from the wheel before you take it out of the box.
I know steering wheels can get expensive, but remember that it is the part of the car that you spend the most time with. So if you can afford to spend a bit more money, for quality, you will be happier in the long run.

I'm not really too worried about that.. I just want one that looks decent and not whored out. The more I look at it the more I think that one up there looks a little slutty.. I might just go with an all black GT one.

The new one you picked looks too much like the one in there that you dont like, go with a billet wheel there are many styles to go with and you can powder coat them to make them different.

I would recommend that you check out some of Budniks steering wheels. They have some really cool styles out, and with powder coat as Chris said can be made your "own".

Amen Tony. It's hard to find an aftermarket wheel that doesn't just scream aftermarket.

The Grant Evolution GT 1080 doesn't look half bad though.

While others may disagree, I'm not a fan of a small 13" wheel in our cars. At speed or during cornering, you turn the steering wheel with your shoulders. A smaller wheel takes your hands too close together and you lose ergonomic "balance." I know this as I have driven lots of performance cars with all types and sizes of steering wheels. For me, I like the Grant GT Signature series (comes in both wood and black leather, brushed or black spokes) in their 14.5-15" width. You're also able to see the gauges much better and it keeps you centered in the seat for spirited driving and cornering (autocross and track days).

      Just my thoughts ...

I like it... at 13.75" it's not overly small, but wont feel like I'm driving a school bus either. Amazon has a great price too vs Summit Racing.

Mary, I hear you about being able to see the gauges too.. this looks it might work out good though.

I got a Flaming River one and like it alot. The billet ones I'm afraid would go out of style before I would be ready to change it again! LOL!

I like the LeCarra steering wheels. I'm going to be getting one of their Mark 9 series. They're a 14" wheel with 4 spokes. I like them because they're simple and clean. I really like the look.

Good points Steve. I think with the Grant 1080 above, I'll use this billet horn piece and I have an idea for the horn button label that doesn't involve a Grant or Bowtie logo.
