Waking up an old thread...
Seems like a set of these would solve everything. If I can find them for a better price.

And here's a close up of how they work. This is the BOLT version, but the nuts use the same method.
And before you scream unsafe, THOUSANDS of VW owners are using them to run 5x114 wheels on 5x112 cars.

For my application, an S10 where I'm gonna have to run adapters, the cost is as high as ordering a set of custom adapters in 5x120.65 to 5x120... No advantage. but to you guys running BMW on your stock hubs it can give you back some safety margin.

Heck, thinking way outside the box, even if you only used 3 per wheel, it would take a buch of strain off the two remaining lugs, and 3 lugs, in an emergency, WILL hold a wheel in place.

The only problem with those is now the lugs don't locate the wheels. So you now need to make sure you have a really good hub centric fit. Other than that, the seem like they would work fine.
