Tell me about Insurance
What are the Pro's and Con's of companys like Grundy, Hagerty and you local standard insurance companys?
Also if you dont mind what is your agreed value and your premium??
If you decide to share this, is your vehicle insured as STOCK or MODIFIED??
Thanks

12-17-2008 #2IMO, agreed value policies are the only way to go when insuring you muscle car, classic, etc. Most standard ins companies offer stated value, which means what some pencil pusher actuary sees your car being worth based on variuous, not so flattering parameters, age, replacement cost, etc. I.E. not real world value at all.
I would skip passed the State Farms, AIG's (for other obvious reasons) Pru, etc and strictly look at the companies mentioned. Some specialized Ins companies have mileage limitations, but may be more then enough for your needs. Some do frown upon highly modified vehicles, especially with NOS and they know will see track use. Most will require photos as well.
I have Grundy right now with agreed value policy for $35K and unlimited mileage. I pay around $300 for the year, and keep in mind I live in the fleece the citizen state of New Jersey, so maybe even cheaper by you. The car has been off the road for about 1 1/2 years while being "pro-toured" and once done will let Grundy know about the mods and see if they will keep me and up my coverage. I have heard that Parish Heathcock(spelling) is also very good and more lienent on the mods, so worth looking into.
But for what it's worth $300 for the year and I would get $35K back if God forbid a total loss, is awsomeCamaro Convertible Build Pics - http://s447.photobucket.com/albums/qq198/rob07002/
