These guys work fast. Already aligned the entire front end and installed the hood. Usually takes me a few days to get gaps that good.

      That's all for today.

I am psyched for you. I can't imagine how you are feeling seeing the progress that has been made. I had a green 68 with the D90 stripe. I know you probably aren't staying with the color scheme, but I have always thought it was cool.

      Update for the weekend:

Floors are coming along very nicely.

      Wheel test fit:

      Inside drivers front:

Front view; looks like I'll be doing a wide body front and rear 68 body now:

Drivers side shot at ride height:

Can't wait to see the 3/4 shot with both front and rear wheels, even if they stick out past the sheetmetal.

      Have a good weekend boys.

Amazing work. Are you going to be adding sideskirts to the car? That valence makes it look a little front-heavy. Still sexy, and I was planning on doing the exact same thing with my radiator and hood so I'm interested in how you get yours set up.

I like the structure of the car and am wondering what it will weigh when done? I want to see the bottom of the car , is it flat? I really like a flat floor for packaging of the brake and fuel lines.

Keep us posted on how the rear trunk and floor areas get done, I am thinking it is going to be very creative with all of the mounting points to work with.

Good to see more getting done.

I'm also interested in the weight of the car when complete. Looks a little heavy but that's some sick work by the boys at Ironworks.

Put some skinny tires up front and go for the "hella-flush" look. J/K!

Glad to see I am not the only one thinking 50/50 may need to go on a diet with all the extra metal being installed. I hope I am happily surprised when I hear the final weight number and it is lower than I expect.

      Good luck with the build.

Well guys actually this has been the plan all along, Tyler bought these wheels years ago and I don't think has never had them bolted on this car, due to the fact they would not clear. The intentions are do pull the quarters front and rear to fulfill the desire look and spec.

As far as the being over weight, Let give you some idea of the differences in weight. A 1ft piece of 4x2 .125 wall rectangular tubing weighs just over 4lbs. A 1ft piece of 1.75 .125 round tube weighs just over 2 lbs. So for every 2 pieces of equal length 1.75" tubing it will equal 1 piece of 4x2 tubing.

So if you compare the weight of John's nova to Tyler's Camaro I bet his car will be lighter just due to the fact he will have less extras and More consideration for using light weight components.

This car was weighed on ride sticks in the rear that is why the weights are so weird. And there is an airhose sitting on top of it....

So I was gone most of August and half of September in Europe; London, Amsterdam, Prague, Paris, and Rome. Rodger did get a few things rolling when they had time.
They did the front A pillar down tubes of the cage, mounted the Tilton pedals, fab'd new engine mounts to set the engine back for use of my Sidewinder accessory drive, re-made the torque tube, and re-installed the drivetrain.

I only have a few pics, and they don't show much, but an update is an update.
      Checking HRE wheel clearance.

      New laser cut engine mounts

      Same thing, different angle

Engine setback is now very much into the firewall, and at least 2 inches behind the front axle centerline

      Torque tube all installed
