ls1/lt1 interchange

I looked for info on this,so im not lazy.Maybe I didnt look hard enough. So flame me if you want.

I have a lt1 6 speed, Iwas planning on running an 86 and newer block. I have since come across a smoking deal on an iron block 6.0L. I have read some where but cant remember where. Can i swap the lt1 tranny to the ls engine? I know one will swap tothe other just wasnt sure if it was lt1 transmisson to ls block or ls tranny to lt1 block.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

T56's dont interchange...LT1 T56 wont work on a Gen 3 engine...
