      Interesting new Wilwood kits

We now have the perfect tweaner kit between our 2 most popular brake packages, 12.2 Dynalite (4) piston packages, and the high end 13" (6) piston Superlite packages. The 13" (6) piston kit are twice the money of the smaller 12.2" (4) piston Dynalite kits. Besides the big price difference, the (4) piston 12.2" kits are very popular because they clear all 17" wheels with no problems, and the bigger kits may not depending on the wheel.

We are happy to announce we now have (6) piston Superlite 12.2" kits that price wise fall right in between the (4) piston Dynalite 12.2" kits and (6) piston Superlite 13" kits. these exciting new kits provide all the increased clamping power of the larger caliper and pad, the all important bling, with less expense and better wheel clearance for even 17" wheels!

So base Total Car Brake Packages using 12.2" rotors front and rear and (4) piston Dynalite Calipers are base price at $1750, Add (6) piston Superlight front calipers, add $400 and for $2150 you can have a awesome (6) piston / (4) piston 12.2" front and rear Total Car brake Package which includes:

      Kits include:

      Front and Rear Wilwood Kits
      New front Hubs
3 pints Wilwood DOT 4 high temp Brake Fluid
      Front Braided Brake Hoses
      Rear Braided Brake Hose
E brake Cables for Internal E Brakes
      Master Cylinder
      Adjustable Proportioning Valve
We even include Safety Wire and Safety Wire Pliers for proper 2 piece rotor assembly

So for the new "Tweaner" package is has 2 piece front and rear rotors (12.2") 6 piston front 4 piston rear, all the hardware and master cylinder for $2150. If so that is a sweet deal.

      Is that a Willwood MC?
      How much for colored caliper?

      Thanks

      Frank,

To make these kits, are new brackets & calipers being added to existing kits to get the desired package? For a second gen f-body, will the rotors bolt directly to the front hub or do they use a separate hub & hat?

I would really love to see a Wilwood arrangement that uses the 12.2" rotors front (1.25")/rear (1.00") thick with Superlites in the rear & SL6 in the front.

      Thanks,
      Shane

Shane, The front caliper brackets are special. We swap the front calipers and brackets in the kit. The 12.2" kit is now available for 2nd gen and uses the .81 rotor. We can do Superlight front and rear on 12.2", (6) piston Superlite front / (4) piston Superlite rear.

Yeah, lots of options for sure. But the cool thing about these kits is when you get to the top of the mountain with a Ultimate Total Car Brake Package 14" (6) piston Superlite Front / 14" (4) piston Superlite rear, colored calipers, drilled / slotted, billet master, E brake cable, braided hoses, fluid, tools, bla, bla, bla. You are just barely north of $4000 which is a screamin deal for such awesome brakes.

So Frank is the 12.2 a hat on top of a hub or the same adapter/rotor that bolts to the hub as the Dynalite kit uses?
Easy to adapt the 4 piston Superlite on the front for a little less $ and smaller size?

We use a Dynalite kit and adapt the Superlite caliper with a bracket. the (4) piston Superlite is the same cost as a (6) piston Superlite.

Cool! Are there thicker 12.2 rotors to adapt also?

Wilwodd has thicker rotors (1.25") in the 12.19" diameter with the same bolt pattern as the other rotors of the same dia. The issue though is that the rotors bolt to the outside of the hub which pushes the caliper 0.44" toward the wheel which effectively reduces caliper to spoke clearance. I have researched myself aSs I have the old 12.19x.81 package up front and have wanted even just thicker rotors. It would take more than a rotor swap and thicker bridge in the caliper though.

Exactly what year, make , model? there will not be a 12.2", but we may have 11.75 stuff.

      GM 10 - bolt?

Will the rear kit fit a GM 10 - bolt?

Nick I thought I saw in their cataolg some rotors that have the same bolt pattern as the adapter ring so they would be close and maybe just need spacers to move the caliper on the bracket.

The same as the adpter, yes. They will bolt together, I am not arguing that. I was incorrect on the direction though. It would require the caliper to be moved 0.44" inboard, and the bracket in the kit cannot work without that much in spacers. THen you run into leverage on the bolts that holt the caliper to the bracket.

Frank, does Wilwood have a way to adapt the 12.19x1.25 rotors to the 140-7675 kits? I ask because originally they didn't have these kits. I had to get a 140-2285 (10.75"x0.81" rotors) and buy a new adapter ring, caliper brackets and a couple more bolts. The thicker rotors would be much better for fade resistance.
