late model pro-touring?

I know this probably wouldn't fit in the original description of pro-touring, but I want to ask anyways. Is there such a thing as a late model pro-touring car? What I own is a 99 camaro SS. It has a capable powerplant and the t-56 tranny. I was wondering if all you PT pros think it would be possible to create the pro-touring feel with such a new car? What do you think I would need to do to get that sinister PT look and feel? I will attach a couple pictures of the car as it sits to give you feel for what I am working with.

thats a nice 4th gen for sure...

if the brakes handling and power is upgraded.. i would consider it a pt style car..

Well, everything that you mentioned has been upgraded, but I am still thinking it needs a bunch more work. I am thinking along the lines of wider/deeper dish wheels with a narrowed rearend. Probably going to go with airbag suspension to be able to lower it down and tuck the wheels a little bit at a show.
I am now thinking about why i dont think it has that same sinister look as most PT cars I see is because of the location of the wheelwells compared to the top of the tire. I really like the way most of the PT cars have the top of the tire tucked inside the wheelwell. I guess my idea on airbags would help that.

No such thing as a late model "Pro-Touring" car.

Why? Because the pro-touring scene is about making OLD cars perform like late model cars. That means the late model cars are the benchmark, they aren't the build style.

ok, i understand. I am 25 and I love the pro-touring style on the older cars. I am going to work towards getting the most fuctional parts for my car, while also working on the looks. Thanks for all your help.

I wouldn't get wrapped up in what it is called, I would focus on making it the best it could possibly be. It already looks great, improve on what you have. POLISH THE HEADLIGHTS! I know i just did that on my '99 Z28 and it changes the look of it quite a bit.
i started out sanding mine with 600 grit paper (wet) and worked my way all the way up to 2000 grit. and then i used meguiar's plastic polish with a small buffer and they shined up pretty nicely.

what have you done for upgrades?

i was finally able to install new shocks & springs, and new wheels. the car looks 10 times better now. i'd throw some pictures up, but i don't have any current ones, and the car is dirty and weather is crappy, so not exactly the best time for a car wash...

I need to polish my headlights. I was looking for some aftermarket projector units, but they all look really cheesy to me. As far as upgrades.
Hedman long tube headers, offroad ypipe, borla catback, slp lid, centerforce dual friction clutch, aluminum flywheel, and 4.10 gears.
I had the car dyno tuned down in Georgia where I used to live and it dynoed at 346hp/ and 365 lbft of torque. I still get around 27 mpg on the highway too.
