I'd be more interested in a longblock pricing, sans blower. Wonder what pricing on that titanium rod, low CR shorty would be...

28k WOW!!! add ecu /oil tank /pipes over 30k, thats huge cash for 600 ponies. Question, is cool factor worth 10k.

Jody- I hope your wrong. I want one but that number is over the top.

It would be cheaper to build an LS3 with a Harrop 2300 Supercharger, you could have it now and still make more power. The price on the supercharger from Australia is cheaper now, since their foreign exchange rate has dropped 1 USD = .61 AUD.

28K is out of my range but I think it is neat they will have a crate for the builders with the means.

These cars will have the added cool factor for sure. IIRC I saw a post that Stielow was building a car called Jackass with your sub frame and an LS9. I look forward to seeing more on that.

that price was retail as quoted by a GM employee, pretty sure it's correct.

I can only image this motor with a pulley and headers, or even a cam change.

      That's just plain pornographic.

Could have at least put a NSFW label on it . . .

If I'm going to spend $28K I might as well toss in another $4K and get a brand new Camaro SS.

      Or.......

You can get 600 horse out of an L92 and use the $20,000 left over for your sex change operation.

It's all up to you big guy, err...girl.

I talked to a guy about a decade ago who worked at Mercury Marine Division’s facility at Stillwater, Oklahoma during the Lotus/GM LT5 production (the 1990-1995 ZR1 engine). Interesting enough, he said that GM had estimated that the average cost of each LT5 (including all overhead for production) was………….you guessed it, $28K.

I had a change to buy a new 1993 405hp LT5 still in the GM create several years ago for $5k.

Mark Campbell at Street and Performance called me a year or so ago and had one they were looking to sell that was new.

I would guess in five to ten years these will fall in value the same……………………

      I think you mean Z06 427?

      $13K

Edit, sorry, you are correct ZL1 427

      http://www.jegs.com/i/GM+Performance...66392/10002/-1

How about the 454 ZL1 Ramjet from a few years ago.

I think Summit sold the last two ZL1 Ramjets for $13K. I see a few on eBay ever so often
