October 26 - "Cruise the Crest Breakfast Club"

Our "Cruise the Crest" yesterday (September 21) was a great run although with a smaller group. In attendance were me in my '68 Camaro, Lance (Lance-W) in his gorgeous '66 Chevelle, Karl (406 Q-ship) in his sneaky fast '68 Chevelle (as you would expect from a suspension engineer) and John (Wilwaxu) in his late model, modded LS1 Firebird (pending getting his '72 Nova on the road). So, it's time to try to schedule the next "Cruise the Crest Breakfast Club" meeting, and October 26 seems to be the preferred date.

We'll meet at the re-opened Shell station at the Angeles Crest Highway ("ACH") exit off the 210 freeway at 6:30am. Heading away from Pasadena on the 210, you turn left at the end of the ACH exit ramp, cross over the 210 freeway and turn left into the Shell station. Heading toward Pasadena on the 210, you turn right at the end of the ACH exit ramp and then quickly left into the Shell station.

Meeting time is 6:30am, we generally will wait 5-10 minutes for stragglers. Even if you miss us, head up (staying on the ACH) and meet us at Newcomb's ranch. The 27-mile winding-road drive is a thrill (if you want it to be,) as are the scenic views and the great food at Newcomb's Ranch. Bring any car you want or hitch a ride with one of the others.

So far, CarlC, Lance-W, Wilwaxu (I think) and I are in.

By the way, I head up there most Sunday mornings (starting no later than 6:45 or so), so if someone wants to go, just PM me.

I'll probably be hitching. The front wiring is taking a while. DSE headlight motors, new headlight wiring and relays, power junctions, power centers, etc. are taking a bunch of time. Plus, the anal in me came out and I'm doing it all in Weatherpack.

There's one in Project Updates that you've seen before. I have not posted anything in a while, but need to. Lot's of stuff done since then.

I could rewire my whole house in less time/effort. That's what I get for building custom stuff.

Okay, time to get serious. So far as I can tell, attendance will be me, CarlC, Wliwaxu, Neesumsar, maybe 6'9"Witha69 (if he gets permission from the spousal unit), Mark Dunn and, maybe, a friend of mine with a C4 or C5 Corvette. Anyone else?

6:30 will be just about perfect for a shadow free drive to Newcomb's.

I wonder if I'll make it back home in time from the cruise?

I've got this one tentatively marked on the calendar.

Took my car to work today and this was the first time on the freeway with the new wheels. At 70+ I was getting some vibration. So depending on if I can get them rebalanced or tolerate the drive to AC hwy I'll be there.
