Very nice Anders! Me and a lot of other people here would shure like an update now. I would like to know why you chose to run with a Pontiac engine instead of a Chevy? The engine you have is now a modern racing lookin' peice of art! I keep on searching on ebaymotors for Nascar stuff and engines just to look at and maybe get some ideas. Too bad AN fittings and such are sooooo expensive, plus the shipping costs to sweden. I can never plan ahead a couple of months and when I can, then ebay sellers don't want to send it via boat. I asked for shipping costs on some parts the other day, one harmanic balancer and two male-male AN-20 fittings in steel not aluminum from two different sellers. The balancer cost $120 to buy and $70 to ship. The AN-20 fittings cost $20 to buy and $80 to ship!!!!!!!! also a aluminum radiator that cost $240 to buy was $90 to ship, but that one I can understand, it is a big package but still. ALOT of money just to get the stuff to Sweden and even then you can't be shure that you don't have to pay over 25% in taxes for the item. I HATE IT!
oh well, I hope you check the project threads in the Swedish Camaro forum to se my fall-winter-spring projects!
      keep up the good work!

yep, but it's still kind of expensive... Oh, and speaking about shipping Yody...

There isn't much work beeing done on the car right now, I just got a job (since my education is finished) as a head of design & development at one of the biggest bicyclemnufactor in Sweden and much time is spend on that.

I'm still scanning the market for new headers too, can't make up my mind. Have some pics at the car with the eninge mounted, will post them during the weekend..

Thanks for all the good comments!!!

ripper, look into the tri-y headers for pontiacs and they have great ground clearance

      79T/Aman where are you from?
Yody, the shipping via USPS is still very expensive. I think the quotes I got was for shipping via USPS.
Ripper, congrats on the new job! I too need a new job, hate being unemployed!

Dang that's awesome, man. I liked the car already before reading along into the engine build. Sweetness. Great thread, too, with all the progress.

      More, please.

      Wow Ripper,
That car is really coming along nicely.
I absolutely love what you've done the Pontiac engine. I think your work should be published in one of the Poncho magazines so that others may be inspired by your ideas.
      Fantastic!!

Thank you all for the very kind comments! It gives me motivation to be in the garage and perhaps I'll get finished one day

Some things has happened since last time I updated, but I've been bissy with work too. Anyway, since summer is coming fast I must get going... Especially since I already booked alot of track days and autocross events!

      Some pictures:

down on the floor again with the same 750 lbs springs as before, although 2" higher due to lighter engine! The engine rebuild resulted in a weight reduction of almost 140 lbs (I think, don't have the numbers in my head)!
The front end will be lowered again, but first after I installed my new 1150 lbs/in springs.

I really hate working with electrics... however, the instructions from electromotive are pretty well structured. Some of my sensors has three cords instead of two... Hmmm, will probably be a problem.... :(

New instrument dash. Carbon fibre and enough instruments to keep an eye of the most important things.

It's not alot of room but it works!! I wanted to place the alternator as low as possible due to it's weight. The aluminum piece is just temporary, you'll se the finished result on another picture.

I spend alot of research on the net to find a couple of headers that I was satisfied with (good HP and ground clearance). I decided to go with Tri-Y's and got in touch with whatever his name was on the PYforum. He sad there were no problem with making headers with O2 bungs and that was the last I heard from him... Obviously, there are alot of people in line waiting for headers and I don't dare spoiling the summer because I can't get them in time so I decided to keep on looking...

The oil system has been pressurized and seems to work fine! None of the hoses seems to leak. I'm slightly nervous since I haven't run into problems for a long time.. ;)

Here's the new mount for the alternator and power steering pump. It's tight, but it will work for now!

Since the pontiac water neck has a funny angle, I went with a Moroso neck made for Chevy. As you guys can see, it features a radiator cam. Why? Because I have plans on mounting a lower and angeled radiator in the front for better cooling and then will the water neck be the highest point. anyway, the housing didn't fit from start since the C-C measure was 3,25 and pontiac uses 3". It was easy to fix though since there were enough material to elongate the holes.

The engine compartment is starting to be sligtly cramped... Different parts everywhere!!

Made a new water pipe too..

And the stock heater (whatever it name is...) was modifed since the oil tank sits where the stock fan for the coupe used to be.

      Pussle time!

I have some more pictures but it's late here and I'll go to bed.. Will more pics in a few days.

Glad you guys like what I'm doing!
