master cyl/ power booster

So im working on the Chevelle today and i am staring at the the crazy angle of the brake master/booster. Im also annoyed that the cover seal is leaking DOT III all over the frame.

Question popped into my head. Other than proper pedal to booster rod placement, why is the booster/master positioned in such an extreme angle?
I really should concentrate on getting work done.

I don't know the answer, but I always wondered the same question. Hopefully I can live with manual brakes on my chevelle and not have to worry about the angle but still would like to know...subscribed.

I have installed and removed an ebay chrome Disc/Disc master three times. Bench bleed it twice. A friend commented on the angle.

I just said it's so that the fluid dosn't introduce air into the system under heavy braking when its low. You could do several emergency stops in reverse from 50 mph while you front and rear resevoirs are low to prove me wrong.

That Master cylinder wouldn't operate the Baer brakes with enough force so I'm now switching to the ugly Baer item. After I'll repaint my frame rail and get that cylinder power coated.

~to provide proper pedal ro angle
~move the master away from exhaust
~down hill braking safety

Why is this not the same if you have non power brakes. Master cylinder bolt straight to the firewall.
