Hey Rick, glad to hear you'll have the car there! I'm excited to see it finally. Unfortunately, I can't make it to the show, we have prior plans for Saturday night. BTW, I sold the 69. You may see it at the show, though. The buyer was local. Let me know when you'll have your 68 at another local show. I definitely want to check it out.

Its your typical hot rod , classics and bikes type show, there is live entertainment, food and some kid stuff like jumpers and rock wall climbing, i beleive the track holds 100 or more cars, they have your typical judging and then a car of the year, truck of the year and bike of the year $1000 , $750 and $500 prizes, show is from 5pm to 10pm.

There's far more than a 100 cars at that show. It's a good time, but don't plan on leaving before 10:00pm if you bring a car to show. There's no way to get out. Get in line at least 1/2-hour before they tell you the gates will open our you will likely be in line idling for 1-2 hours. Last year there were a few nice PT-type builds.

I'll likely end up being there with my friend and his car. Mine's still out of commission.

      Rick,

No, I didn't end up selling the 69 to Larry, although I really wanted to. I had a prior offer that came through. The guy's name is Scott and he lives off of Copper Hill somewhere.

I won't be starting another project right away. I'm retiring from law enforcement here in the states and taking a job overseas for a year. I'll be gone all of 2009. I'll have plenty of time to think about what kind of project I want to start when I get back....and a few $$ in my pocket to at least get a good start!

Thanks for the offer to let me check out your car at your place. I'll send you a PM when I'm free, or I'll look for you at Route 66 or AutoSpa.

Well the show was a lot of fun and the car got a lot of attention, I met a bunch of cool people and spent lots of quality time with the family, I didnt win any prizes but I did have one judge tell me he was puting me in for best of show so that was nice, I lost out to a very nice flamed mid 50s Vette.

Still need to work the overheating bugs out and will stick to the local stuff for now, there is another show this weekend at the local route 66 i may do, trust me when I work all the bugs out and feel I can go for a long ride I will do less shows and drive the piss out of it.
