      Just in case......

I am going in for surgery to remove a lymphnode in my neck and it is supposed to be a routine outpatient surgery. With all of the blunders they make these days I just wanted to let you guys know that it's possible the Cormaro could need a new owner if they screw up.

I expect all to go as planned and I won't know for a day or so if it is cancerous or not but the doc says it is a normal thing to happen to people as they get my age and nothing to worry about.

I should be back on with stitches later tonight or tommorow morning to let you know how it went.

Thanks for being the best bunch of car guys a man could ever know and if they take me out and there is a car guy heaven I am hopeful to be standing in line behind Phil Hill and if they only let me catch a glimpes of it and come back I will tell you all about it.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

I want to thank you all for thinking of me. The doctor actually initialed the area they had to prep so they didn't make a mistake.
It all went as good as it could have, I feel pretty good for having a 4 in. cut in my neck. He took out more than just the lymphnode ,it was a few other pieces too. He started out with the words " what you have is treatable but it is cancerous and what is left can be finished off with radiation treatments"

So I still am having a positive attitude about it and will take it as it comes. I have a friend that had the same treatments with throat cancer and she is doing well and it hasn't returned.

I get some time off to work on the car and I am well insured so I am not going to get stressed out about it. I can lift up to 10lbs right now and the brake lines and fuel lines fit into the category along with a few other things so I will have plenty to do to keep my mind in the right place. I actually believe it will motivate me even more to get it done sooner. I don't have time to worry about the little stuff now and some of the big things too, just the priorities.

Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers .

      Jim

Hey Martin, you are absolutely right about it being time !
Thanks for thinking of me and as soon as the doc gets this tube out of my neck I have some tubing going in my car, being hooked up is what the car needs and if the doc can make me work with something like plastic and tape I'm certain that what I can do to the Cormaro will look better .

I have a completely different way of looking at my life now and just showing up with a car that runs is an appearance that will be better than it being everything I wanted it to be. A few flaws here and there will be just as much fun and less to worry about.

Thanks to everyone who has been thinking of me and may the horsepower be with us all .

Glad to hear you made it through surgery!

Once you get the tube out of your neck, can you use it as windshield wiper fluid tube / something non-mission critical? Talk about personalizing the car. (You could name the car MALIGNANT, because in addition to the cancer description, it also means "Showing great malevolence, disposed to do evil" (American Heritage Dictionary) which is a pretty cool description of a PT car.)

Good luck with the treatments, keep us posted!

That thought brings whole new meaning to " Spare body parts"

I am most certain I can save money on the gas tank vent tube if I use the one off of my neck
