      auxilary fuse box

I have the need for more fuse connections for fans, fuel pump, windows etc. ect in my 65 Elky. My stock fuse box is maxed out but works fine. I don't want to replace what works, but I would like to move all the add ons to another box to insure I don't overload the stock unit since it was never designed to handle this much power throughput, and to provide additional connections.

I was hoping for a modern add on fuse box kit (hopefully with instructions). Saying I am wiring challanged is an understatement.

      Any help is appreciated.

Check out Painless wiring. They have an 8-fuse single relay 30A setup that may work well for you . It's very easy to wire in.

Here's the fuse panel I'm wiring into this 1966 Chevelle for a customer. It has provisions for up to 8 relays and 16 or so MAXI style fuses. It uses a buss bar to mate both sections for the fuses so one side of each is hot via BAT +12v, and I use a 4-gauge wire that runs to a master 150-amp re-setable circuit breaker. Every add-on device for this car goes through this relay/fuse bank. I labelled everything so it all is easy to read, wire and make changes. I'm using relays for the Nitrous 6 box, trans brake, line lock, nitrous/fuel solenoids, fan over-ride, purge valve, primary fuel pump and secondary fuel pump. I also us ethis to fuse all of my IGN switched +12v sources too. Very handy. Just giving you an idea. Oh, and the relays (they just snap onto a bracket made just for them!) are weatherproof type too so even better!

What brand is that fuse box you are using? Do you sell it? IF so how much?

I too am looking for an aux fuse box for my syclone and am very close to ordering up the painless but like that setup much better.

      Thanks

Ah-I wish I could say this is my design but I always look to factory GM stuff before EVER going aftermarket or designing for myself-GM puts a lot into their parts for longevity and when it comes to electrical performance, I have a lot of cool, functional designs. That fuse panel I am building can be found on 98-00 Olds Aleros. Some are white while others come in black-same otherwise. Go to the GM parts department and ask them-you'll have to order several items to gather it all to make it work or you can get lucky and grab one from a late model junkyard. My work involves a lot of custom approaches to problems and it all varies from customer to customer, but this relay/fuse block will serve anybodys purpose imo.

Ah I see, that was a reason I really liked it, factory look

I have access to wiring diagrams etc I think I may look into this, I kinda thought about it before but never really moved off my thinking
