Carb Idle - w/ AC Running & Without

I have a question maybe someone can help me with...

If my A/C is running my car idles around 500RPM which is good and sounds great.

When my A/C is NOT running my car idles around 700RPM. This is a bit high and doesn't sound as good.

Is there a way I can get my car to idle around 500RPM all the time? I can't seem to get it like this.

      Any suggestions?

I would like to see your engine idle at a minimum of 800rpm. It's no wonder you are fouling plugs with a 500rpm idle. Keep in mind that your idle speed effects drivability and oil pressure hot at idle when it's the most crucial.

Agreed with Vegas. 500 is really too low for most carbed setups.

There are actuators which can be mounted to your carb to bump idle when the A/C is on and return to normal when off.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?

it does it cause the compressor is putting a load on your motor and bringing the idle down... my fans do the same to mine... but thats just electrical drain...

but theres not really any way around it except maybe those actuators..

Hmm... 500 is too low huh? Darn! It sounds so good at 500 - bump baa bump baaa bump...

Ok... I honestly didn't know 500 was too low. Could very well be the reason I am fouling plugs out like you said Vegas.

      Thanks for the feedback guys!
