      Tire Reconmendations for Camaro?

Hey guys I have got the wheels figured out now all I need is to decide on tires. I have the sizes narrowed down to 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear or something close to that anyway.
Here are the qualifications tires must meet-
1.has to work well with handling characteristics of heavy RWD car (70 camaro with stock suspension)
2.tires will never see winter conditions but maybe rain from time to time if I get caught in a storm on a cruise or something
3.I live in minnesota and I swear we have the bumpiest roads so they have to handle some of that
4.as far as stickyness goes I will prolly only be putting 300hp to em so I dont need slicks!
5.as far as tire noise I have dual side exiting exhaust with 28" glass packs for mufflers so I better not be able to hear the tires over that
      6. car will never see auto cross or drag strip prolly but street performace is needed for these tires
7.tire needs to wear well do not want to replace after 12k!
      8. will spend up to $200 aprox. per tire but cheaper would be nice

I have been reading reviews on tire dealer websites but they are not that helpful one person will say they love the tire another will say they suck, and who knows the last time some of those people got an alignment done! I know I can trust the word on my fellow pro-touring guys. Any input here guys would be extreamly helpful, eveyone has been very helpful in helping me with wheels, thanks.

bump it up to a 45 series on the front so they're the same od?

but... seems like you don't need that good of a tire.... almost any 'summer performance' tire should fit the bill...

Don't bump to a 45 on the front, it will be too tall.

Your sizes look good as what you listed above. I would suggest going with the Nitto 555's. Great tire for the money, and will handle well in wet and dry. Otherwise, the Bridgestone Potenza's have excellent wet dry traction too. Check those out.

We sell all kinds of tire brands, so if you decide on any one, or need a quote, let me know!

Hey guys thanks for all the advise so far I am looking at a couple different brands but I might be sold on BFG g-force sport they will run me about $150 each for front and $180 each for rear, the reviews are good we'll see what happens

personally id stick to BFG but i would move up to the KDW2s..its a awesome tire...wicked performance...good looks and its got a rim guard if you accidently clip a curb. They should be within your price range...for sure the 245s..the 275s might be a little over 200 but the 245s should be under 200 a piece.

      Heres mine. Nittos 555, 245/40/18 and 285/40/18
Going on a Chevelle, if Nitto had a 295/40/18, I'd go with that

If the suspension is worn out at all do a rebuild before you buy these types of tires as they will bring to light all issues with the suspension and can even speed up the failure/breakdown process. Also, R compounds are very soft and will get really beat up by roads that are too rough. KDW(2) tires are really good all around.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?
