      Insurance

Farm Bureau is a regular insurance company. The only thing they asked me for was pictures of the build and they asked me what the value of the vehicles were. I gave them what it cost me to build them because that is what I figure it would cost me to replace it. You guys all know what one of these cars cost to build so getting one insured for $50,000 to $100,000 plus is a must. They didnt have a problem with insuring the car at agreed upon value. It must be a secondary car. I myself cant see putting liability ONLY insurance on a car that cost over $50,000.

      Hey Tony thanks,

well I called my Allstate agent and he will put it on my regular policy for 6 months, this will cost me twice as much but will be full coverage with an agreed value of 80K, In february of 09 Ill drop a ticket and will then be elgible for Hagerty at half the cost for 100K of coverage.

Understood, but how many times in the next 10 years do you think you will actually have to make a claim on that said insurance?
Regardless, Im glad he got it insured, and hope he gets to drive it.

no kidding... I wouldn't consider putting liability only on a $50,000 car PERIOD. If I couldn't afford insurance to cover something at that pricepoint, I would sell it and buy something that I could afford.

Gambling on 50K whenever I go out is too much for me. Especially when it only takes someone 5 minutes with a tow truck to steal a car. I know someone that had their car stolen out of a restaurant parking lot while they were eating.

Here in Los Angeles County, the thiefs see you cruising around town, and they will follow you, hoping you park in some lot for a few minutes, worst yet a restaurant. I had a few baldys follow me one time as I was heading home from cruising around. Just to be sure they were, I turned down a street in a neigborhood I know And they sure as hell followed me. They were not real close, but they were there. I was pissed than. Drove a few blocks to A Buds house who just happen to be cutting his lawn. The baldys passed by and disappeared. Could have had a gun, could have jacked me.

      Hit the Street

Well I took her out for a ride Sunday and all I can say is WOW what a lot of fun, I still need to do a few things but man did it run nice and this is just with me setting the timing by ear, car pulled very hard and revs quickly, the brakes need a little work with the praportioning valve adjustment (need more back brake) I also need to play with the shocks a bit but she seems pretty flat in the corners with the little bit of quick turns I made, all in all I'm very happy, car needs to go back to the shop fopr a few more little things like charge the Aircon and fix the CD player he installed.
