200r4
I am getting ready to order a 200R4 from bowtie overdrive. It is a stage3 and rated for 630hp... is anyone running one of these? I am putting it in my 69 camaro which has a 502 in it...anything i need to watch for?

do you have a TV cable? what carb are you running? some require the TV geometry corrector kit.

I am running a proform 850 carb and the kit comes with all the tv cable and 12volt wiring harness and the carb adapter for the tv cable...it also comes with the installation pressure test guage so we can get it set correctly...

Can they really handle that much torque/horsepower?

Yeah, they can. Most people don't realize that the 200-4R is actually just as strong, if not stronger, than many 700R4's. That, and many forget that they were installed behind the turbo v6 in the Buick GN's.

IIRC CKPerformance has some behind 900HP motors! of course they're nowhere near stock.
i know quite a few people who like the 200r4 MUCH more than the 700r4, just in terms of durability. work in progress--for the next 10 years.

I think the killer is the torque. Alot of motors even boosted Buciks don't have the low down grunt a big motor has.
Two of my Pontiac buddies are giving 200Rs a try in their 10 seond cars. Both had isssues (diffeent ones) pulled them out and just put them back in.
They take ALOT of high dollar billet stuff to make them strong.

Yet Brian Rock has his 10 second '65 GTO running one, that he himself built.
It seems they are hit and miss.Current: 2010 CTS-V
