Well after two weeks on the job...

I have to say I like it. Everyone here have been very nice and helpfull. I used to work for a large corporation so I am pretty used to the whole "you need this form and that form" way of doing business.



We just moved and I was shuffled from my cubicle upstairs to a nice office with a view (well a view of the parking lot but hey, it's a start). Now I have room to buy more car crap since my office at home is full.

I have written a couple of features, I am doing the Speed Reading section, tech letters, tech installs and we are also working on some tech theory stories. It's fun (and educational) but it is a job with the same stresses as any other one.

My first tech install article will be of the very cool Shrifter from Twist Machine and the T-Com controller that goes with it.

Soon we will be starting a new project car. I hope to lots of input from this site on the direction the car should take. I also am pushing to do more "profiles" of regular guys and the projects they are working on.

We shot a 69 LS6 car for an upcoming issue so that was a learning experience. I got some great burnout video footage I need to post up. all in all I am happy to be here.

I am always happy to get ideas for things you guys want to see. After all, in a way, I work for you.. the subscribers. Besides, without all the knowledge I have gained from this site I doubt I would be here writing this.

Well back to work for me. I have to write a feature on a 65 GTO and edit a tech article from Craig Morrison.

Well there is a lot to learn.. Slugs, Decks and all the other publishing terms that need to be dealt with. As for getting paid, well technically I haven't seen a check yet..

Tomorrow I am going to the Peterson Automotive Museum for a Meguires wax event. I hope the goodie bag is large

Hey Steve, glad things are going well.

One suggestion I've been thinking about, I've been reading alot of LS1 tech articles and even seeing them on horsepower TV etc about LS1 buildups. They bolt on these heads, this cam etc, but never really explain the tuning that is required to make it work. If you guys could do a tech article and show the differences that a proper tune makes. Say A Heads/cam LS1 with a stock tune vs mail-order tune vs real-time dyno tune and show the HP differences.

I think it would be a great article.

DOH! I was just at the Peterson Auto Museum today for a Meguires "press meeting" where they talked about all they do-hickies.

Yep, I was thinking about an article on LSx tuning that would touch on basic stuff like the Hyper-tech, more advaced like LS1edit and tuning on a dyno.. Should work out since I still need to tune my 69.. It does seem to be overlooked..

His uncle Ken is my car buddy, we went to the sema show and hung out at the meguires booth and Terry gave us the lowdown on all the meguires products. I have visited with him an several occasions and he is a heck of a nice guy!
