No oil coming out pushrods when priming oil pump....?

The drill is definetly under load, about ripped my hand off once the oil sucked into the pump. But no oil is coming out of the pushrods. Is this normal, or do I have a problem?

Nevermind, either I didn't let it go long enough, or I didn't have the primer in the right place to get oil directed in the right location. I see oil now.
      Thanks

I am wondering, on a Chevrolet small block, if you don't get oil to the rockers when priming, or even when running, what the problem might be. Just wondering because on the old Y- Block Ford engines of the fifties this was usually a spun or incorrectly installed cam bearing.

      Curious I am.

Spun cam bearing or bad lifter would probably be at the top of the list.

Back to the original thread, priming can take awhile. I think mine almost took 20-30 minutes to get oil up that last lifter. One trick is to bump the motor (not start!) over occassionally.

      Priming Engine

It also helps if the engine is rotated as you prime
